Considering Emma as complete in herself/a single unit, not as separate parts, she is whole and thus, wholeness illustrated. BUT you can admit the whole when a part is proved and that part illustrates the entirety. Her smile and her laugh illustrate joy. Her abandonment of napping for the pleasure of standing attempts illustrates growth. What we view as a challenge probably isn't for Emma. She doesn't know any other way. Have you ever noticed that kids with what we consider devastating diseases smile and laugh and make us wonder how and why they can do that? They don't know there's any other way. Yes, they see others without said challenges, but unless they have been taught "victim", "whine", "woe", "poor me", they do not have those mentalities.
